Sexual Exploitation of the Already Vulnerable

Our research explores different topics in which sexual exploitation often occurs with already vulnerable populations, such as migrant women, and women in refugee camps. We also explore how authority figures such as UN Peacekeeping Troops and U.S. Military officials exploit women via commercialized sex.

Transgender Rights

This collective research explores different security issues affecting the trans community worldwide. We cover access to Hormone Replacement Therapy during wartimes, transphobia in Poland, a highly religious country, persecutions of the transgender community in Uganda and Russia, and finally, protections for the transgender community.

Gender & the Environment

This research collection examines the injustices between gender and the environment. Covering topics from the gendered nature of petroleum to the impact pesticides have on menstruation cycles, causing earlier onset worldwide. It also explores how women can often be the first to experience malnutrition and food insecurity as well as how indigenous women have taken a lead on the fight against climate change.

Women in Hard Security

This research collection takes a look at issues in hard security. They include a look into women taking up arms to protect their communities when governing systems have failed them, the participation in the field of cyber security despite endless hurdles, terror and extremism in refugee camps and how women take on certain roles pertaining to those issues, and finally how

reorienting security.
